Gap EU FAQs
About gap.eu Prices and Cost?
The gap.eu website has now closed. It closed for trading at approximately 11.59pm GMT on Wednesday 20th July 2022. However, Gap products can still be purchased from various franchise partners' websites. These include Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and the Republic of Ireland. Gap has also launched an outlet category on its UK and EU e-commerce sites, offering discounted Gap goods across a number of categories. This includes womenswear, menswear, kidswear, toddler, and baby collections. These items are displayed next to the phrase: ‘Everyday lower price’, further emphasising the reduced rates.
What happened to Gap EU?
Gap EU underwent significant changes as part of their 2023 Power Plan. The company conducted a strategic review of its operations in Europe with the aim of finding more cost-effective ways to maintain a presence and serve customers. In France, Gap identified a potential partner, Hermione People and Brands, and is in negotiations to take over Gap stores. In Italy, discussions are ongoing with a potential partner for the acquisition of Gap stores. In the United Kingdom and Europe, Gap decided to maintain its online business, shifting towards a digital-first approach. However, due to market dynamics in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, Gap proposed to close all company-operated Gap Specialty and Gap Outlet stores in a phased manner from the end of August through the end of September 2021. The company is keen to maintain its presence in these markets and is looking for a partner to help drive its online business. Despite the closure of physical stores, Gap continues to serve customers in more than 40 countries around the world through a combination of company-operated and franchise stores and e-commerce sites.
